Bio Booster (1 lb.)
- Bio Booster is designed to increase diatom populations and reduce nutrients needed by algae.
- Apply 1/2 lb. per acre per week for 4 weeks, then 1/4 lb. per acre per week as needed.
Diatoms are one of the reasons life emerged from the swamp. Millions of years ago when the oceans subsided, land masses emerged, and runoff started to carry granite and silica into the oceans, a microscopic life-form emerged that scientists consider to be a fundamental building block of life itself – the diatom.
How to Use
What it Does:
Diatoms are microscopic food power cells (phytoplankton) that convert carbon dioxide, nitrogen and phosphorus into dissolved oxygen, oxygen rich organic compounds and zooplankton which result in a healthy ecosystem and ultimately a thriving fish population. They play a dynamic role in nutrient conversion and regulation of ecosystems.
How it Works:
Diatoms are the food source at the base of the fish food chain. Grow diatoms, grow fish! When nutrients go into the fish food chain, they are unavailable to weeds and other algae. Diatoms increase dissolved oxygen in the water. They produce more oxygen in their life cycle, than they consume. Scientific studies confirm that diatoms are the single largest producer of oxygen for the planet earth!
Where it Can Be Used:
Bio Booster can be used in water bodies throughout the year. The CLEAN-FLO inversion aeration system will enhance the performance and provide additional water improvement benefits.
The start-up application should be ½ pound per acre per week for 4 weeks. Mix the product in water at a rate of 1 gallon per ½ pound before applying. Then reduce the rate to ¼ pound for the next 4 weeks. Periodic monthly maintenance dosing is recommended.
Persons allergic to dust should wear nose and mouth protection when handling this product. In the event of direct contact with eyes or skin, flush the affected area with water.
