CLEAN-FLO
This large reservoir had a serious blue-green algae problem producing bad taste and odor in the drinking water. Taste and odor is gone after inversion and oxygenation of the reservoir by CLEAN-FLO. Lake top half is treated with CLEAN-FLO and bottom half is not treated with CLEAN-FLO. This small lake demonstrates the effectiveness of CLEAN-FLO products and services in the remediation and management of water. In this example diffusers and inversion / oxygenation have been employed at a great savings and with total effectiveness. This river was restored from Class 3-4 where Class 4 is “unusable for any purpose” to Class 1-2 where Class 1 is “usable for any purpose.” This hog manure lagoon demonstrates the effectiveness of CLEAN-FLO’s unique aeration in treating wastewater treatment lagoons. Odor could not be detected when standing on the edge of the lagoon. This lake had two feet of organic muck at the shoreline before CLEAN-FLO treatment. This is a pond using the CLEAN-FLO pond aeration system. Inversion and oxygenation of a bay of the ocean. This bay of the ocean was highly polluted by industrial and residential waste before CLEAN-FLO treatment. Inverting and oxygenating bays of the ocean and rivers flowing into the bays can prevent red tide from destroying important fisheries. Improve water quality, remove odors, improve fish growth, and health and prevent fish kills. This a pond that does not use the CLEAN-FLO pond aeration system.

Lake Aeration

Natural Control of Lake Weeds and Lake Algae

Lake aeration increases the dissolved oxygen content of the water and can increase fish and other aquatic animal habitat, prevents fishkills, and controls lake weeds and lake algae.  Lake aeration will improve the quality of the water supply and decrease water treatment costs. In many cases, algal blooms can be reduced, and lake muck dramatically decreased.

Many different types of lake aeration systems are available to help do this by injecting air, or mechanically mixing or agitating the water.  After years of research and thousands of lake restoration projects, CLEAN-FLO has produced the most cost effective and efficient lake aeration system that also happens to be natural and environmentally friendly.

Our pond and lake aerators pump compressed air to diffusers placed on the lake bottom.  The system is enhanced by adding a natural buffered alum compound specially formulated to precipitate phosphorus in lakes and promote oxygenation of the water.  We also add beneficial bacteria and enzymes which naturally “eat” lake muck.  The system aerates, circulates and de-stratifies the water column. CLEAN-FLO lake aeration and pond aeration systems have been independently tested and are guaranteed to be the most efficient and cost effective lake and pond aerators you can buy.

Lake Aeration – Natural Lake Weed Control

Lake weeds and lake algae decline as a result of nutrient (phosphorus) reductions. All submerged lake weeds must absorb carbon dioxide from the water column; not through the roots. The CLEAN-FLO Lake Aeration System “turns over the lake water column” and exhausts bottom carbon dioxide to the atmosphere, reducing carbon dioxide to such low levels that the plants starve.

To accelerate the removal of phosphates and limit
lake weeds and lake algae growth, we add combinations of our buffered alum compound (Lake Cleanser Special) or our electronic charge neutralizer (Lake Care) and beneficial bacteria and enzymes. Each program is designed based on water quality data taken from your particular lake. With the Lake Cleanser Special applications we typically remove over 97% of the phosphate in the water column. Inversion, aeration and buffered alum improve water quality and reduce nutrients (fertilizer) needed for aquatic macrophyte (weed) growth.

Lake Cleanser Special CLEAN-FLO Lake Cleanser Special is a buffered alum compound specially formulated to precipitate phosphorus in lakes, ponds and water reservoirs with water retention times greater than 60 days, without lowering the pH of the water more than 0.1 - 0.2 pH units.
