Letter from Parkview Hills City of Middletown, NY drinking water reservoir solves taste and odor problems with CLEAN-FLO. CLEAN-FLO is even recommended by Microbiology professors! Michael Davis, Associate Professor, Department of Biomolecular Sciences at Central Connecticut State University says: “CLEAN-FLO is a company that sells a mixture of microorganisms for cleaning up muck in ponds and lakes. It’s clear that these folks paid attention in their microbiology class! Check out their list of strains and reasoning behind the biological remediation scheme”. Testimonial from David Hanson: The CLEAN-FLO Aeration Systems on Sweeney Lake, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
We learned of aeration and decided to try it. We liked the idea of only using air or oxygen to clean the water not alum or other poisons. The CLEAN-FLO equipment has been continually upgraded by us and we now have 14 diffusers (more are still needed) in our 80 acre, mile long lake. It is up to 28 feet deep. Air compressors of which we have 8 now last much longer. We use two special winter aerator hoods that allow us to keep oxygen on the lake bottom in the winter for the fish and more important the small critters that eat the muck. We are pleased with the results. We have large bass and northern pike in the lake. We believe that receding of the black muck from the shoreline is because of the microorganisms eating at the muck on the lake bottom.
Our CLEAN-FLO aeration system (one pump and diffuser) was installed in early December of 1987 and has been in continual operation for about a year now. The most obvious improvement during the summer of 1988 was a lack of filamentous algae or vascular plant problems. Read moreā¦.
