C-FLO-4 – Micro-organisms for hydrocarbon reduction
C-FLO-4 is a complex mixture of bio-cultures that have the ability to degrade most industrial hydrocarbon based wastes. When properly applied, they are capable of degrading phenols, alcohols, surfactants, glycols, napthalenes, amines, nitriles, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, various oils, styrene, heterocycles, and low levels of certain cyanide compounds. C-FLO-4 will function to reduce BOD, COD and TSS in chemical and petrochemical plant wastewaters as well as steel mills and spill site projects.
STORAGE
- Maximum storage temperature: 40 ° C
- Minimum storage temperature: 10 ° C
- Cool dry place out of direct sunlight
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: These are the optimum conditions necessary for healthy biomass to grow within the wastewater treatment system. If you do not provide and maintain this growth environment, the biomass will not work at all or will not work as efficiently as it could to remove waste organics.
- pH 7.0
- DO 2.0+ ppm
- C/N/P ratio 100/5/1
- Temperature 30 degreees C
- Toxic metals 0 ppm
DIRECTIONS: For most treatments it is best to pre-hydrate C-FLO-4 prior to application. Mix one pound of product with one gallon warm, non-chlorinated water and let solution stand for about 30 to 45 minutes. Pour liquid and solids into will-mixed aerated treatment containment or add to the in-flow of a trickling filter. C-FLO-4 is also suitable for oxidation ditches and lagoons.
APPLICATION:
For start-up: Days 1-4 = 25 pounds per MGD flow, Days 5-8 = 10 pounds per MGD flow
For maintenance: One pound per day per MGD flow every other day or as indicated by system operations.
These dose rates and schedules can be adjusted to fit particular projects. If you have a difficult project, increase the pounds per day and/or increase the number of days at each level of application. If your system only needs slight enhancement, dose rates and schedules can be reduced. It is possible to under dose, but it is not likely that you would ever over dose. It is best to evaluate removal results and adjust the dose rate and schedule accordingly.
Never apply less than five pounds per day for the start-up schedule no matter how low the flow of the treatment system. It is very important to inoculate with ample starting bio-seed.
The maintenance dose may or may not be necessary in any given system. If applied, it will prevent the slow deterioration of the quality of biological population. At least one pound of C-FLO-4 per MGD flow once each week is recommended.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS: People allergic to dust should wear nose, mouth and eye protection when handling this product. In the event of direct contact with eyes or skin, flush affected areas with water.
